generosity campaign

Have questions about the "Even Greater" campaign?  Below you will find the answers to most of your questions and/or concerns.  If you have a specific question not covered in the following or just need more information do not hesitate to ask.  At the bottom of this page you will find a form to ask your question and we will get a response to you as soon as we can!  There is also a Q & A Brochure that is available in the foyers of our buildings. Be sure to print your name and contact information on the document. Then, tear the appropriate portion off and place it in the “Even Greater” question boxes placed in the foyers of our buildings.

Q.  WHY A CAPITAL “GENEROSITY” CAMPAIGN?

A.  Our Elders have prayerfully acted in faith and started a long-term Master Plan to address our current and future facilities’ needs knowing the members of the Central family have always reached goals set before us. To avoid financially impacting the many great ministries we have, a generosity campaign was selected as the best way to finance this facilities expansion.

Q.  WHAT ARE WE BUILDING AND HOW MUCH NEEDS TO BE COMMITTED?

A.  Our best estimated cost for the Phase 1 of Central’s Master Plan is around $1.8 million. Phase 1 includes the new Children’s Ministry Building, the New Atrium Entrance and Gathering Place, the New Entrance, esthetic upgrades to our auditorium plus all the site work for the entire Master Plan. There are three additional phases in this master plan that will take some years to implement. The total cost of the entire Master Plan is approximately $5 million at our campus location.  Were we to relocate to do this, the cost is estimated to be between $8 and $10 million.

Q.  WHY ARE WE HIRING AN OUTSIDE CONSULTANT TO HELP US  RAISE MONEY?

A.  A Capital Generosity Campaign is a large endeavor that requires expertise that we do not have internally. The expenditures we are incurring are investments in the success of the campaign and in our future. In total, we expect campaign expenses to comprise about $.02 of every $1.00 raised. It is the belief of our church leaders that this is a wise investment.

Q.  FOR HOW LONG WILL MY COMMITMENT BE?

A.  Our commitments are designed to begin this December and continue for the next three years. You can choose to make your offering in a lump sum or spread out over the three year period.

Q.  WHEN WILL COMMITMENTS BE RECEIVED?

A.  Our hope is that the entire Central family can be present and make our commitments on November 18, 2012.

Q.  CAN ASSETS OTHER THAN CASH BE COMMITTED TO THE CAMPAIGN?

A.  Yes. Many times major gifts in the form of investment securities, real estate or other assets are committed in a campaign like this.

Q.  IS THIS IN PLACE OF OUR  REGULAR OFFERINGS?

A.  No. This is over and above our regular giving. Our current ministries and missions still need to continue with excellence.

Q.  ARE WE GOING TO PUT THE CHURCH IN LONG-TERM DEBT?

A.  That is certainly not our intention. Our plan is to assume only short-term loans that will be paid off when the capital commitment is completed about three years from now.
